Meet our Executive Board

Vir Gupta

Role: President

Hometown: Bengaluru, India

Dream Role: The Narrator, "Every Brilliant Thing"

Hey, my name is Vir Gupta, and I'm from Bengaluru, India. I am majoring in Critical & Creative Media & Theater and minoring in Journalism. This will be my junior year at Wake, and I spent the majority of the last two years having a blast while working on our shows and being in and around Scales. If I'm not there, you can often spot me riding my blue bike around campus. I also work as a Resident Advisor in Collins (The Place 2-B) and an intramural sports referee/supervisor. Last year, I served as the treasurer for AAP, and I'm looking forward to another great year with the Theater Department as president.

Hello AAP! My name is Ananya, am a senior and I currently live in Seattle, WA, but I also have some roots in many other places. I love all things theater and you usually find me in the Scales lobby doing homework or chatting. AAP has been such a wonderful community for me at Wake and where I have met my people. I am so excited to serve as your VP this year!

Nathaniel Avery

Role: Treasurer

Hometown: Groton, Connecticut

Dream Role: Scar, "The Lion King"

Hello, it’s Nate, resident person to lift big object or get thing off tall shelf in AAP. I’m normally in rehearsal, working on campus (Go IMs!), or oversleeping yet again in my room. I spend my time watching TV, playing videogames, and desperately trying to catch up on things I forgot to do while watching TV and playing videogames. I’m always here to lend a hand, an ear, or to cause/solve problems. I look forward to this upcoming year and helping make AAP and the theatre department the best it can be!

Hello lovely flockers! My name is Lauren and I am a sophomore from colorful Colorado! I absolutely love everything theatre, especially musical theatre, and you can almost always find me in an upper Scales practice room singing or the lower Scales lobby trying me memorize my lines :) - I also love skiing, reading, and walking laps on the quad! If you ever need a walking buddy, I’m your girl! And fun fact: I’m a twin! I cannot wait to serve you all and the Wake Forest theatre department and I hope that we can make this the best year yet!

Riley Shanaghan

Hometown: Santa Clarita, California

Dream Role: A Dancer in "Moulin Rouge"

Hey! I’ve been involved in the Theater & Dance department since my first day at Wake Forest. You can mainly catch me in the sceneshop building sets with Thomas or painting sets with Rob. (They are characters you will definitely want to talk to!) When I’m not doing theater stuff, you can catch me in D101 practicing for the Dance Company concerts or many other dance clubs I am apart of. I’m excited for another year of AAP, painting floors, and rummaging through the Props Basement!

When not in the theater, you can find me playing pickle ball, skiing, and eating at Penny Path crepe shop or Arriba Villa. I’m also a Tour Guide and the PR Director for Hit the Bricks!
